All Skylight Specialist, Inc.'s insulated safety glass top replacements and skylights utilize Low-E coatings and are argon gas filled for increased thermal efficiency in all climates.

Energy efficient Low-E coatings help you reduce unwanted summer heat gain and help prevent heat loss during the winter. The space between the glass is filled with argon gas which not only adds to the energy efficiency, but reduces sound transmission as well. An additional benefit of Low-E coating is its ability to screen the sun's damaging ultra-violet rays which contribute to fading fabrics and carpeting. Bronze tinting is an available option to reduce unwanted glare.

• Outer frame is extruded aluminum 6063 T-5, with welded corners. Frames have an architectural Bronze Powder coated finish.
• Interior glazing retainer is extruded PVC with Monsanto Santoprene gasket that has heat welded corners.
• A full width extruded aluminum external hinge is used on fixed and vented models.
• Liner boxes are double coated primed wood with a finished return for sheetrock or other materials.

Tempered over Tempered Safety Glass

Tempered over Tempered Safety Glass Is a highly energy efficient combination of two panes of tempered safety glass, coated with state-of-the-art Low-E technology.

Tempered over Laminated Safety Glass

Insulated safety glass consists of an exterior pane of tempered safety glass and in interior pane of laminated safety glass. If damaged, the laminated piece of glass remains together, similar to the makeup of a car windshield. The use of laminated safety glass also reduces outside noise infiltration and filters out 99.9% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
